GRUNDY CENTER INDEPENDENT LEARNING CENTER

The Grundy Center Independent Learning Center is an alternative high school classroom for students, ages 16 - 21, who wish to continue working on their high school diploma, outside of the regular classroom setting.

The following school districts: Aplington/Parkersburg, Dike/New Hartford, Gladbrook/Reinbeck, BCLUW, and Grundy Center have a 28-E agreement to provide services for students.

36 semester credits are needed to complete a high school diploma: 28required and 8 elective. The required credits are as follows: Math-6, English-8, Science-6, American History-2, American Government and Economics-2, Parenting-1, Keyboarding-1, Health - 1, and PE -1.  

Facts about the Grundy Center Learning Center:

The Grundy Center Learning Center is an individualized classroom where students work independently from the other students

Students work on one to two subjects at one time.

Students are referred to this program by the high school guidance counselor and/or principal.

Students must provide their own transportation to school.

Students must be 16 years of age to enter.

Diplomas will be issued by the Grundy Center Community School District.

Monday 9:00-2:00

Tuesday 9:00-3:00

Wednesday 9:00-3:00

Thursday 9:00-2:00

Friday 9:00-12:00
